The shooting last June should have been a wake-up call for our political discourse, but we’ve only been on a further slide since then. 自己理解的意思大概是自从Steve Scalise被开枪已经过了一年 但这次Diane Black受到威胁的事件也只被简短的报导 这个枪击事件对政坛应该是个警钟 "but we’ve only been on a further slide since then." 以上这一句就不知道该怎麽理解了, 我们只前进了一页?? 另外其他部分如果理解有错, 还麻烦指正m(__)m谢谢 --
