请问大家一个单字问题
civil engineering =土木工程
这个我懂很久了
但是我想问一个问题
那就是：「为什麽civil engineering =土木工程？？」
以下是牛津字典中civil跟civil engineering的词条

civil没有一个定义跟土木有关
那为什麽civil engineering =土木工程？？
是因为跟国民或平民的生活息息相关吗？
还是有什麽其他典故？？
请知道的人解释一下
