标题[文法] can否定的用法

我是国中学生，我的英文老师今天教can的句型，
他说在一个否定句时，不能将can not分开写，
只能写「缩写」，除非是强调语气，但我问我的
补习班老师，他说没有这个说法，现在有点被
搞糊涂了，可请各位解释一下，谢谢。
I can't speak French.(o)
I can not speak French(强调语气）
这样是对的吗？
我以前学英文记得都可以用啊？
而且我的补习班老师说，只有听过写正式文章
不能「缩写」，但没听过否定不能缩写！

I can’t speak French.= I cannot speak French.
但不可以写I can not speak French.
