标题[文法] as conditioned的省略

大家好，请教一下
在Dictionary.com中有这样的解释：
person
noun
(Sociology) an individual human being, especially with reference to his or
her social relationships and behavioral patterns as conditioned by the
culture.
------
想问的是，这里的....as conditioned by the culture.
这里的as是连接词，相当於in the way in which（照....方式）

但我不太懂as後面省略的用法，如果写成：
1. '...as are conditioned by the culture.'
2. '...as they are conditioned by the culture.'
这样也都是对的吗？
因为这是把主词、be动词都省略了，不太懂这方面的文法，想请教一下。谢谢！
PEU 3rd 177.7有说：
标题comparative structures with 'as' and 'than'
说明We can leave out words after 'as' and 'than', if the meaning is clear.
例句The weather isn't as good as last year. (= as it was last year.)
但这是讲「比较的结构」，好像和我那句不太一样...？
