标题[文法] than to的对称性问题

大家好，请教一下

You should know better than to behave like that.

想问的是，than这个字不是应该都可以用句子左右对称的方式来理解吗？例如：
I'm older than she (is old).
He loves me more than you (love me或直接用do).
It was much better than I'd expected (it was).
但这个例句我就不晓得应该怎麽改才行了
You should know better than to behave like that.
主要是better than後面为何会多一个to?
如果没有to的话就可以懂：
You should know better than behave like that.
可写成
You should know better than You behave like that.
但多了to我就无法理解了。

know/should have known better.

"to behave like that" is an infinitive clause used as a noun. The infinitive
clause can be changed to a pronoun.
→You should know better than [that].
And the clause can be used as a subject:
[To behave like that] is unacceptable in this house.

可是似乎都没有直接解答我的疑惑，我想问的就是，这个子句是不是可以用对称的方式改
写？应该如何改呢？

感谢sunny大回应，其实我有这样想过，但又想到should後应该不能接to+原形动词
这种句型，例如：
You should to behave like that. (错误)
You should behave like that. （正确）
所以我就不晓得那个多出来的to该如何处理？QQ
