各位英语超强的大大们好：
最近在Longman字典里查until一字时，发现一个令我疑惑的文法小专栏

在最後一项中，提到until之後的子句可以使用「过去完成式」，并列出 “I waited unt
il the train had left the station."
但是，主要子句使用过去式，until之後用过去完成式，合理吗？
首先，此句中，I waited 以及the train had left the station都是属於「过去」的时
态。
第二，此句的主轴是I waited。
然而，I waited的时间起始点，应该要比火车开走还要来得早。但是，火车开走却是用过
去完成式来搭配。
所以，这句话的意思应该是什麽？
我对这句的句意做了几个猜测：
1. 我等到火车开走了就不等了。
如果语意上理解成这样，我认为until之後用过去完成式并不合理，因为若the train had
left the station，那火车应该早在I waited以前就已经开走了。
若是等到火车开走了就不等，是不是应该说：“I waited until the train left.”较合
理呢？
2. 我等到火车开走了才在等。
理由是，I waited是过去式，the train had left the station是过去完成式。火车应该
比较早开走，人才开始等。
3. 我等到火车开走了还是等。
这个理解的原因也是基於I waited是过去式，the train had left the station是过去完
成式。
但如果是这样，句子换成 “I waited even though the train had left the station.
” 不是更顺吗？
不晓得各位好朋友们，对於until搭配过去完成式的见解如何呢？
