想请问一个Smite的例句
He was so smitten with the view that he stopped and took out his camera.
^^^^
中文翻译是:他被这景象所震撼,所以停下来拿出照相机。
我发现这种限定用法,如果用连接词 and的对等子句的逗号可以不写的话,
我常常不能理解这种句子的断句
1. 想先请教的点是, that 後面的限定用法应该是
(a) the view that he stopped
还是
(b) the view that he stopped and took out his camera
(a)的翻译有点怪
但是如果不能接受(a)的翻译那(b)我也翻译不出来了
2. 我对於这个with 是不是应该改成by 有一点意见
如果是确定是用with没错的话
本句就可以改写成
Something smited him with the view that he stopped and took out his camera.
(这句实在没有存在的可能性,某个东西打他,用这个景色..这也太怪了一点吧)
如果正确的用法是用by
本句就可以改写成
The view that he stopped and took out his camera smited him.
(这句的存在性好像高一点,某个景色拍打他,这可能是种比喻式的用法)
3. 经过我思考超过30分钟以上的结果,我忽然想到这可能是分词构句的隐身版本
本来的句子应该改成
With the view, he was so smitten that he stopped and took out his camera.
(这句我觉得存在性是最高的...)
那只有with可以当成分词构句,by就不能当分词构句了吗?
我的意思是
By the view, he was so smitten that he stopped and took out his camera.
(这句的存在性会如何呢?)
因为我不是相关科系,请求指教...
