Kansas was first settled by European Americans in the 1830s, but the
pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political
wars over the slavery issue.
我自己是这样翻:
Kansas最初被欧裔美国人殖民是在1830s, 然而在1850s使殖民的脚步加快的原因则是
政治战争中的奴隶议题
小弟的英文不太好 很多文章都常常看得不是很了解
