标题[求译] Martin Luther king Jr.的一句话

想请问 Martin Luther King, Jr. 说过的一句话 如下
『Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple tree.』
看到有人翻成:就算明天是世界末日 我仍然会种下一颗苹果树
由於自己英文造诣不是很好 因此想请教
"go to pieces"的翻成世界末日是否正确
以及这句话是否是要表达"正面乐观"的意思 或有其他的隐喻在~
