标题[请益] the用法

How many of the studets are eating rice?
请问回答方式可以用 A lot of "the" studets are eating rice. 吗?
一般的 a lot of 不就是直接加上个名词? (可数或是不可数名词)
在这里如果加上 the 有"限定"某一群学生的意思吗?
还是就只是因为题目有 the 所以回答也要有the?
或者说回答时有 the 前面其实就不该用 a lot of
而是该用 some/ none / one of the...
