标题[请益] 几个疑问..

有几个问题想请教大家：
1. 我不是很懂 "over" 在这里的用法:
"The 'kiddush', which is recited to usher in Shabbat and other festivals,
is
a blessing made over wine to symbolize the tranformation of
secular time into holy time."
Kiddush 是祷文之类的颂词，
请问 a blessing over wine 是指 为酒祈福、祝祷 还是 用酒祈福、祝祷 呢？
over 在这里的用法，跟 "We'll discuss it over lunch" 是否不同？
还有什麽类似的句子可以用来解释 over 在这里的用法呢？
2. 专家建议父母，在性、喝酒等等方面定下规矩：
Make rules that let you
stand dull and tall and consistent:
- You are not permitted to drink at parties.
- You are not permitted to attend parties where no adult is present.
- We don't want you home with your boyfriend when no adult is in the house,
and your door must remain open where he is in your room.
请问这里的 stand dull and tall and consistent 里，
stand tall 和 stand consistent 都还能理解，但 stand dull... 是什麽意思呢？
3. 和青春期子女谈喝酒、药物、性爱，比...来得困难？
Having conversations with your teen about drinking, drugs, and sex is
more difficult than
prescribing that you have one.
请问这里的 prescribing that you have one,
是指 "直接对子女说 你有某方面的问题 (酗酒/上瘾/对性的态度随便)" 的意思吗？
还是别的意思呢？
4. I have a friend who is thinking about kissing another girl.
请问，在没有说明这位 friend 性别的情况下，
可从 "another" girl 推测那位朋友也是 girl 吗？（女孩想亲吻女孩）
还是我想太多了？... ~_~
5. 作者提到，拉拔孩子这麽多年，要在他们变成青少年时缩手并不容易：

请问，这里的 look up and around and forward,
最後的 (look) forward 是指往前看、继续走下去对吗？
那前面的 look up and around 又是甚麽意思呢？

这里的 ever-ready 感觉是精明能干的意思，但在网路辞典上都查不到这个词...
我要怎麽确定这个词的意义呢？有哪里查得到吗？
