我的试译：
平溪天灯吸引很多游客。这项多采多姿的天灯施放活动，据说源自於清朝。
当时盗匪成群打家劫舍，逼得多数居民逃亡到四周的山上。等到浩劫之後，
盗匪扬长而去时，留守的村民便以施放天灯作为安全讯号，通知逃难的居民
可以返家。
The Pingxi Sky Latern attracts many tourists. This interesting custom
of releasing Sky Latern was started since Ching Dynasty. At that time the
robbers gathered together and robbered the residents so that residents were
forced to hide and run away arouond the mountains. After the diaster the
robbers were all gone, the villigers stayed in the town release the Sky Latern
as a signal to inform the villigers who hide in the mountains could come home.
提问：
1.) 第一句，就是照着句子翻，但用英文来看，是否恰当？
2.）第二句，多采多姿的活动，不知道用什麽单字才合语意。
3.）浩劫，译成diaster是否恰当。
4.）还有些文法或用词上错误，还待版友指教。谢谢。
5.）此题配分为15分，不知道这样子会剩下几分 XD 还请版友提供意见。
PS：本文为原PO就看到文章後，直接试翻，并没有边查字典。
所以可能会有很多错误 XD。
因为考试才开始试着翻译句子，也发现原来自己英文写作（还有英翻中）很差。
打算考试後，要开始每天试着中翻英和英翻中了。
