老师後来公布了paraphrase的参考答案.
看起来,似乎後者才对?
安全帽减少了最高85%(头部)意外伤害,拯救每年数以百计的生命,其中半数是学童.
安全帽拯救的是头部受伤致死的生命,那之中的半数是学童,
所以看起来原文"half of those killed"是指"头部受伤致死者".
