标题[文法] 否定疑问句

Q : Why ____ they watch TV instead of going shopping?
选项有do 和 don`t 看到的直觉是选了do 但是答案是din`t
这里的instead of 应该是带有否定语气的"而不"的意思吧
有点搞不清楚到底哪个动作是他们做了的
那为什麽答案不能选do 麻烦帮我解释一下 谢谢~
