标题[文法] While/ during 的用法差异

_____ working there, I met some really nice people.
(while/ during)
答案是 while
--我的疑问--
while是连接词，连接两个句子(S.+V.)
during是介系词，後面接的是名词
请问句中working是省略主词跟动词吗，所以才选while??
While I was working there, I met some really nice people.

如果是的话，为什麽可以省略??
还是working在这句当中是当动名词使用吗??
我怎麽记得动名词是名词，哪答案不就变成during了吗??
要如何判断??
