当我说"look in the phone book [for sth.]" 我是要找某不指定公司~
如: "My toilet's clogged" 我马桶塞住了
"Look in the phone book for a plumber" 拿电话簿找个水管工吧
在此例，我不指定[水管工]，找谁都好
但是我说"look up [sth.] in the phone book"的时候，我是要依据某资料来找其他资料
如: "What's the number for the plumber you called last week?"
你上礼拜找的水管工电话是什?
"I don't remember; his name is John Petersen, look him up in the phone book"
我不记得耶，但他叫John Petersen，去电话簿里查
这里就是用a资料找b资料
Look in / look up 的区别在其他地方一样适用，如:
"I need you to look in the database and find me potential clients"
我要你上资料库帮我找些潜在客户
"I need you to look up John Petersen for me in the database; i need his number"
我要你帮我查John Petersen的电话
Look in / look up 的差异在此~
