标题[文法] Taiwanese people的people 是不是有点多余？

学英文的人大约都知道Taiwanese这个字的就有「台湾人」的意思了。
以前还在上课的时候，在课堂上有人用Taiwanese people来表示台湾人，还被老师纠正呢
！
结果，刚刚看了一篇对话文章，谈的是保险，那个保险业务员就一直用Taiwanese people
, Taiwanese people, 比方说：
1, Some Taiwanese people in southern Taiwan suffered huge losses in the middle
of this year.
2, Most Taiwanese people I know seem happy with their insurance policies.
看了实在觉的有点烦，读起来有够不顺的。
若是将之改成：
1, Some Taiwanese in southern Taiwan suffered huge losses in the middle of
this year.
2, Most Taiwanese I know seem happy with their insurance policies.
这样不是好的多吗？
不知道你们是否也和我一样，觉的在Taiwanese後面加了people有点多余？
