标题[文法] It is/was her own fault??

以下是在下在Longman Language Activator看到的两个句子:
1.He played very well, and it "is" not his fault we lost.
2.Marie failed the exam, but it "was" her own fault - she didn't do any work.
第二句的时态前後一致，都用过去式;但第一句就怪了，
却用it is not his fault.两句都是fault这个单字的用
法例句，第一句里的三个动词时态却不一，请问在文法
上应如何解释?
同理，看过这样的句子: It is my mistake that I lost
the car. 如果比照上面第二例句的话，是不是应该说
It was my...比较合文法?
一直困扰时态文法，例如 I came here to 我来这里...
为什麽不用come here...? That's how Dad did it.
请问为什麽不是That was how Dad did it ?
