标题[文法] after 主词要前後一致

依稀记得国中老师说 after/before 若後面要用Ving，则前後的主词要一致才行，
所以:
1. Test was finished within 24hrs after sampling the milk.
------------------------------ ------------------
主词是Test? 想用Ving，但主词是"人"?
所以这句是错误的?
2. Test was finished within 24hrs after milk was sampled.
------------------------------ ----------------
主词Test 放弃用Ving，主词milk
所以这句是正确的？

但我在康乃尔大学出版的文章里看到以下这句，它的句型跟我的1很像，
但它却是正确的？而且可以登上学术版面的？阿~~~
