He's also impressed evaluators with his raw power during batting practice and his ability to make adjustments at the plate during games. He's not the fastest runner, but that doesn't seem to deter scouts. He also participated in multiple prospect leagues in the Dominican Republic. Based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Martinez is trained by Christian "Niche" Batista.
