Sometimes there's one big issue, and everybody asks about it -- leaving a shortage of other questions. Sometimes the questions are good but all over the place. This week, though, with seemingly all of Cardinal Nation concerned over the state of the team, we have a slew of very good questions around a theme. From the best I could tell, John Rodriguez came to Spring Training in great shape and was productive. Given the Cardinals' current lack of offense, is there a reason he has not been utilized this season? With Edmonds' health and effectiveness both open questions at the start of the season, the Cardinals wanted to make sure they were covered in center field. Last year the Cardinals scored 55 runs in their first eleven games. Some of the issues that have plagued the Cards will sort themselves out. Albert Pujols and Scott Rolen will hit. They'll get on base, they'll hit for power and they'll drive in runs. Some things, though, are less clear. Duncan isn't being shielded from lefties. Players get frustrated, too. But what do you do with a team that gets in that situation against the Pirates, and doesn't convert? Two reasons. One, Reyes hasn't been great, but it's not as though he's been awful. He's definitely shown encouraging signs.
