本来在美国西岸发展，发过一两张EP和Mini Album。
後来搞不出什麽名堂，三四年前选择落脚NYC。
後来在NYC巧遇贵人The DFA(Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy)，
The DFA为纽约Disco-Punk Scene的重要推手，
经过他们改造加上The Rapture原本就有走红的本钱，
新专辑Echoes还未推出已经被纽约当地传媒炒翻了。
预料今年年终榜少不了这个名字。
The Rapture的音乐简单讲就是受到几个美国Indie大团的强烈影响，
尤其是Sonic Youth，Gang of Four，Fugazi。
再加上这两年由The Strokes带起的一波New York Punk Revival风潮，
The Rapture顺理成章加入这个体系。
这个体系之下同时还有Radio 4，Interpol，The Walkmen，Longwave，Liars等。
The Rapture玩得比较像Radio 4，也就是所谓的Disco-Punk，
其实这不过又是个复合的音乐形容词，但我觉得还满贴切的。
基本上Punk该有的特色都保留了，只是节奏感变得更强烈，
Bass和鼓的走势突出，吉他的角色被淡化。
像不像Disco见仁见智，有时也满Funky的，
这种音乐不以旋律见长，一首歌如能让你提振精神，耳朵一开，
就算是成功。
就这点而言The Rapture做得满成功的，难怪会红。
