SHORTLIST SHORTLIST! THE WHITE STRIPES, AIR, AT THE DRIVE-IN, GORILLAZ, THE BETA BAND, PJ HARVEY and RYAN ADAMS are amongst the artists nominated for the new SHORTLIST MUSIC PRIZE in the USA. The prize, modelled on BRITAIN's MERCURY MUSIC PRIZE, has been set up to honour the most adventurous and creative albums in contemporary music. The nominated albums were chosen by a panel of 15 musicians and industry figures, including Beck, Aimee Mann, Dave Grohl, ?uestlove from the Roots, Macy Gray, Mos Def, Trent Reznor, Lucinda Williams, Dan the Automator, Nic Harcourt from renowned LA radio station KCRW-FM, producers Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot, At the Drive-In) and Steve Lillywhite, and Urb magazine editor Raymond Roker. The panel nominated a list of 49 releases from which the ten finalists will be chosen.
