Rank 11) RHP Asher Wojciechowski Age:23 ETA:2013 The 2010 sandwich pick had an up-and-down first full season, starting and ending well with a lot of not-so-good in between. The Citadel product still has the chance to be an impact starter with a three-pitch mix. His fastball has been plus in the past, though it was inconsistent in 2011, and his slider is above-average. He didn’t use his changeup in college, but he’s worked hard to catch it up to the others. If that continues and he can find consistency with the heater, he’ll be a workhorse starter. The 6-foot-5 right-hander throws plenty hard with a lot of sink that should lead to a fair share of groundouts. He has a pretty good breaking ball to go with the fastball and has used a splitter as an offspeed pitch in the past. He threw strikes during his brief pro debut, and if that continues, he should start moving. Pitching in the Northeast, he’s unpolished, but he does have a plus fastball, signs of a plus curve and even a feel for a changeup. Although he’s done some good work with the bat, some are not sure how much he’ll hit. There’s more to him than just getting hitters to swing and miss. To go along with his fastball that should be plus, he looks like he should have both a good curve and changeup as he develops.
