On his early days and the injury, Ramsey said: I started off playing rugby when I was eight and I thought I wanted to try football so I tried football and they both got in the way of each other so I made a decision at that age, chose football [and just] played rugby a few times for my school. There were a couple of scouts watching who were interested but I was playing for Cardiff at the time and there was no way I was going to go back playing rugby. I met Arsene Wenger and had a chat about things. His thoughts and where he wanted me to go were encouraging. He gives youngsters opportunities so I think I made the right decision. [Last year] was a good season for me. I was playing well, enjoying my football but then the injury happened. That was a big blow for me, I’ve coped pretty well, had good support from everyone, the fans and the family. Things start going through your mind such if you’re going to play again, if it was my last game. But I was reassured pretty quickly that it was a fixable thing so I took the positives out of it, took my mind off football for a while and then you start to miss it again and just want to get back out there again and do what you do best. --
