The capitalist system controls people through all its failures to function. Television is a private version of fantasy that creates docile subjects. That's why television is ubiquitous because if people are glued to television, they can't be questioning the overall structure of the system and they partake in the enjoyment the system offers. It's a complete violation of utility, no usefullness at all, no practicle value. That's the source of enjoyment that keeps people docile. --
