標題[請益] 不定代名詞一問

最近在幫國三生(九年級)複習，麻辣的複習卷(A)上
有一題如下
New York is bigger than ______ in the USA.
(A)any city (B)any other cities (C) all the cities (D)every city
答案是(B) 可是參考八年級 第四冊 不定數量代名詞
" any other + 單數名詞 "....
讓我有點搞混了 希望版幫我解釋一下
還有 (A)選項及 (D) 選項為什麼不能??

3F：推 mimoya:因為一樓的原因 紐約是美國其中城市之一 所以答案要選的是 06/02 01:07
4F：→ mimoya:"除了紐約之外的所有城市" all the other cities 和 any 06/02 01:09
5F：→ mimoya:other cities都可以 重點在於"除去紐約市" 所以有other一字 06/02 01:09
6F：推 Yoshiko:any other 接單數名詞為宜，這題沒有答案 06/02 07:34
7F：推 l10nel:any other亦可接可數複數名詞，雖頻率較低但不表示不適宜。 06/03 11:02
