Recently, Hawley had posted the following message on his website, "... I've been asked to co-write with Bret [sic] Anderson on his first solo outing, I'll keep you posted as things happen if you like." Today (January 29) a source confirmed to Xfm Online that "Brett has been working on new material co-writing songs with Richard Hawley and working on recordings of least three new tracks in [Hawley's] Sheffield studios." "Richard was quite surprised to be asked when Brett called him up, but [Anderson] said was a massive fan and would love to work with him." Anderson, who claimed that following the break-up of Suede he had to get 'his demon' back is reported according to the source as "…Wanting to get back to basics, and to stop sounding like Suede for a while. He's really chuffed with the results - his voice is almost starting to sound like Johnny Cash! When people hear it, I think they're going to be really surprised."
