True or False
1. the most important fact about Germanic tribal society
is its violence. each of the various tribes is in competition with the

are constant struggles for power. the central bond that holds the
society together is the wealth between a lord and his warriors, the
thanes.
2.in the Germanic world the worse condition into whcih a man can fall
is to be an outlaw or wanderer, someonw who has no home. this is, in
fact, the situation of the monster Grendel, "a rover of borders, one
who held the moors, fend and fastness."
