geckos on the screen like ghosts--
active waxworks,
tending to their customers for the night.
consider them proprietors
of the selfsame moon
(you with your pickpocket glance,
gloating in the gaslight)
or else ministers to shut-ins,
scattering blessings, scattering bread, saying
jus another bite, love--
don't forget to chew.
