Line: A Prayer
To stretch
To extend
Timeless flat of space to spread.
Easy twist and bend,
Destined course to follow,
Wisdom within to send.
On which, full arrogance
Of what energy we depend,
Not knowing, already woven,
Equation so divine, department store in vend.
What seeks its depth may find, uncertain
Knowledge for harvest, brew or blend,
To fight beasts in guard, or in
A coliseum, flaming value to defend,
Weapon, shield, armor, for battle
All bloodshed of glory to spend.
Cold, heartless, yet not without
Deep thought in which we befriend
With growth of mind and stature,
Or just dear wounds to mend.
Construction of, so humble
A house of gold, so ancient a trend
Established and strengthened a grave
To bury what needs not to amend,
Withering, yet still a comfort
Until the end.
Amen.
