Stranger
Lonely, depressed, and the like,
Hideous figure dashed by
Like a stranger,
Is being gray your resonation, great sky?
What is it that I crave?
A sense of belonging to be based
A stranger to this long departed homeland,
An outcast to this foreign place.
The friendship that I have longed for,
One that I’d be proud to announce to the world
Friends, friends,
To when can I find one, for whom I can treasure like gold?
Search on, find the final piece
To the puzzle that makes one whole.
Fill up the hollow, stuff the empty
Let me once again take hold of my soul.
A family reunion seen
Through the cold stained glass
A frozen soul heartened once again
Vapid optimism fills the air.
Staring at the monitor under the dim lighting,
What else can I do on this post-exam night?
Writing a poem, a teenager falls gently asleep
After a rough day, under the fading light.
