標題[問題] estimation theory

最近因修課 而讀到 estimation theoery 實在是看不太懂
我想問的是 estimation theoery 主要是用來幹什麼的 它是用來評估什麼
像書上寫的 如 Bayes estimation 定義了一些 cost function 而且也不曉得
為什麼要這樣定義 現在沒有什麼 sense 而且例題也很少(1題 Orz)
所以想請問各位板上高手 關於 estimation theoery 的看法

PS. 我的reference book 是 principle of communication
text book 是 essentials of communication system engineering
