taking Rayleigh fading channel as an example:
if single tx antenna + single rx antenna, BER is propotional to SNR^(-1)
however,
if 2 tx antennas + 3 rx antennas, BER is propotional to SNR^(-3*2)
this is called "antenna gain"
(spatial/Multipath diversity gain by adding antenna)
and the exponent improvement (1->6) is the diversity gain.
