This final report is a starting point of a formal report, so I hope that you
should
do this very carefully. I think a formal report contains some portions:
Abstract (摘要)
Introduction (緒論)
Former research (前人研究)
Method (方法)
Topography & Geological setting (地形與地質)
Field observation (野外觀察)
Discussion (討論)
Structure interpretation…etc.
Conclusion (結論)
Reference (參考資料)
I think this is suite for a geological report, and the core portion of this
report is
“Field observation”, you can take down your observation, records, put some
photos
and its characteristics. Of course you also need to finish all the profiles
from A to E
section, and distinguish the different properties of all shear zones, then
connect them
if possible (this is very helpful for further discussion).
Besides, the “Abstract” is the brief summary of this report. Generally this
would
not be more than one page. And the “Introduction” has the ability to write
more
clearly, and you can focus on some specially issues/problems of this report.
The “Former research” needs to be mentioned with what you have reading, and
what they have discussion, or the issues that they haven’t resolved. And in
“Topography & Geological setting” you can discuss about the location (ex.
on the east
side of Central Range…) and the study area. Furthermore, you also can
describe the
sequences, properties of stratums in the study area.
The explaining of the relativities of these structures (beddings, folds,
faults, shear
zones, etc.) is also worth doing some discussions. You can read Prof. Lu’s
papers and
write down your own explanation for the tectonic history in this area. So you
can
write these data in your “Discussion”.
Finally, in “Conclusion” you can summarize all of your observations as
briefly as
possible, or list the periods of the evolution in this area. I hope this
information may
bring you some helps.
