根據澳洲人報的報導，厄文並沒有挑釁魟魚。
"He came over the top of a stingray and the stingray's barb went

Mr Irwin's friend and manager John Stainton.
根據報導，厄文本來是在拍紀錄片，但因為天氣很差，所以厄文臨時決定
改替他女兒的新節目拍幾個鏡頭。
所以挑釁之說倒是可以省了。
