Despite Ramos' current allegiance to Real Madrid, Puyol suggested that he would support an effort by new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell to sign the talented defender and his La Roja team-mate. "I think it would be a difficult deal and Madrid would make a huge mistake to let him go. But if he were to come to Barca, he would be a great heir for me. He's a great defender." The Barca captain also praised the two biggest signings so far in the Spanish Liga. "[David] Villa is going to help us a lot and will not have trouble adapting. I think that Barca will be able to retain their form for a while with this team." As for new Blancos coach Jose Mourinho, Puyol affirmed: "Mourinho is a great signing; he is a coach who has won everything." Finally, Puyol expressed his desire to win the World Cup with Spain, but did not clarify his future with La Roja. "I will not be at the next World Cup in Brazil - that is a law of life.
