My goodness. I'm touched. Good on ya Serena, good on ya. I remember that match against Lindsay; yes I do. BabyGirl has grown and continues to mature. In this year's Wimbledon final, I turned off my tv the moment Serena lost the match. I felt so badly, I had to remind myself that it was a game and I had no stake in its outcome. Truth is, I was devastated. I could not and did not watch the ceremony; I could not look at Serena in her defeat. As I said I turned the tv off, left my home and went shopping. Then I regrouped and put the whole thing in its proper perspective. In doing so , I thought: ....."I know Serena feels very badly, but I hope she doesn't cry; and even if she does cry, I hope she goes around the net, greets Maria with a warm embrace and graciously congratulates her. I hope she can appreciate and let Maria enjoy the moment"..... Well when I got to work on Monday, one of my co-workers who know my feelings re: the Sisters, told me that she thought of me but could not bring herself to call me. What she said next, just blew me away. Exactly what I hoped for, is exactly what Serena did. You just can't imagine how uplifted I felt. I realized then, not only how much she had matured, but I felt a sense of her spirituality. As an aside, let me tell you guys that I did not watch tv again until the Monday night.
