打著"BBC Sound of 2012入圍新人"的名號 雖然沒有進入前五名，畢竟前五名都太強了。 這首是Ren在發行首張專輯前的新主打， 而專輯"Through the Night"，(沒錯，和她的首波主打同名) 也在5月14號，也就是今天，在英國的iTunes上架了。 整張專輯由Jimmy Hogarth製作。 (製作過Amy Winehouse和Duffy的專輯) 比起Through the Night，Open Up Your Arms唱法更加奔放， 歌詞也很坦率、真情。 老實說，這首歌真的有讓我驚艷到，它帶出了Ren嗓音的潛力 ，讓人期待整張專輯還會有什麼樣的火花存在。 Ren的出道過程其實也和很多人一樣，把自己的demo帶放在 My Space，然後就被經紀人Paul Harrison相中，接著就開始 籌備新專輯。但是很不幸的是，去年5月的時候，有人從籬笆 跳出來結果撞到她，住院住了兩個多月，專輯也因此延宕了 一陣子。也因為住院期間注射嗎啡來止痛讓她有感而發，所 以翻唱了滾石合唱團的Sister Morphine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bijOOr3F53E 這首翻唱曲有收錄在 Open Up Your Arms的EP。 ----- BBC介紹專頁: http://tinyurl.com/76qdkug ----- 那麼就請各位客倌好好聆聽吧!
