話說我之前在別版跟人家爭台灣地位，結果對方拿出一個東西來打我:

1978年中華民國政府懇求美國承認中華民國被附予法理上權力管理他目前轄下控制的
領土. ... 中華民國官員認為這是至關生死的事情. 美國回覆他們不會變更其立場(亦
即中華民國沒有台灣法理主權).
The Taiwan officials were pre-occupied during the discussions with one
point: Taiwan’s legal status under U.S. law. ... I explained that our
position could not be changed.
Nevertheless, they repeatedly urged us to recognize “the Republic of China
as de jure, entitled to exercise governing authority in respect of the
territories presently under its control.” ... that they considered this a
matter of “life and death” importance.
有人可以解釋這是甚麼東東嗎？

我們被寄望在一夜之間解決此一情勢錯綜復雜之地區所有重大而存在已久的問題。
我覺得國民黨統治下的中國人在精神上已經破產﹐他們不明白為何而死或做任何犧牲。
他們對軍政領導階層已失去信心﹐預期全面崩潰。
那些居上位的貪腐之輩則試圖在崩潰之前競相撈取.....
