My dad saw it first. I was [5-foot-8] in eighth grade, and I walked into high school 6-2. My dad worked with me, taught me all the fundamentals. I was playing baseball, too, pitcher and first base, but I stopped. I didn't wake up on Saturday mornings and think, "I want to play baseball." As a kid, other people are in your ear reminding you of stuff, but now I had to do all that. At home, if I had an appointment or an appearance, my parents would take me. And chores, stuff around the house, you get lazy. Every couple of weeks, it would get to the point where it was terrible.
