Having cleared waivers, guard Greg Buckner could sign a free-agent contract
with the Denver Nuggets as soon as today.

Buckner, who turns 28 on Thursday, averaged 3.1 points for the 76ers last
season but was waived and reached a buyout agreement after things didn't work
out in Philadelphia.

He would give the Nuggets a perimeter defender they desperately lack at a
reasonable price; Buckner is seeking a two-year deal around the minimum salary.

Also, veteran guard Bryon Russell has been working out at the Pepsi Center and
