標題: [試題] 94上 金必耀 普化乙 期中考
時間: Sat Nov 12 18:28:04 2005
課程名稱︰普通化學乙
課程性質︰共同必修
課程教師︰金必耀
開課系所︰土木系.材料系
考試時間︰94.11.11
試題 :
1.Name the following compounds.
(a)Li2S (b)FeCl3 (c)Li2C2O4 (d)Cr2O3 (e)Na2SO4.10H2O
2.Write formulas for the following compounds.
(a)calcium (b)titanium(IV) oxide (c)ammonium bicarbonate
(d)potassium perchorate (e)barium iodide
3.Write structural and formula for each of the following compounds.
(a)cyclobutane (b)isopropyl alcohol (c)hexane (d)pentanoic acid
(e)1-octanol
4.What is meant by the limiting reactant in a chemical reaction? Under
what circumstances might we say that a reaction has two limiting
reactants? Explain.
5.A 0.6118-g sample containing only MgCl2 and NaCl was analyzed by addition
145mL of 0.1006M AgNO3. The precipitate of AgCl(s) formed has a mass of
1.7272g. Calculate the mass of each component in the original sample.
6.In 1858 J.Waterston found a clever way to estimate molecular size from
macroscopic properties of a liquid, which I have explained in great
details in class.
(a)Briefly explain the basic idea of Waterston's method.
(b)With Waterston's method and the following phyical properties,
Heat of vaporization at 25。C : 44kJ/mol
Heat of fusion 0。C : 6.01kJ/mol
The surface tension : Σ = 0.075J/m^2
Heat capacity : 4.18J/gK
Density : 1.00g/cm^3
Dielectric constant : 80
Thermal conductivity at 25。C : 0.607W/mK
estimate the approximate molecular diameter assuming the molecular
are closely packed.
(c)What estimate for Avogadro's number do you get?
7.Without doing detailed calculation, determine which of the following
contains the greatest mass of the element nitrogen
(a)1.00 L of 0.0020M aluminum nitrate
(b)500 mL of a 0.10% by mass magnesium nitrate solution (d = 1.00g/mL)
8.Balance the following redox equations.
(a)HCl + O2 ---> Cl2 + H2O
- - +
(b)IO4 + I + H ---> I2 +H2O
- 2+ 2+ 3+
(c)MnO4(aq) + Fe(aq) ---> Mn(aq) + Fe(aq) in an acidic aqueous solution
(incomplete)
9.In the discussion of the ideal gas equation e specifically neglected the
effect of gravity. This is sometimes not a good approximation in certain
situations. In fact, the preasure of a gas gall with increasing height,
z, accroding to
p = p0˙e^(-mgz/KBT)
10.Give an order of magnitude estimate for the number of atoms in a typical
white chalk we used in class.
11.Calculate the thermal energy (in kJ/mol) and root-mean-square speed of
H2O at 27。C.
12.Give a qualitative physical interpretaion for the collision rate of the
gas particles with a section of wall that has an area A:
ZA = 1/4˙N/V˙(RT/2πM)^(1/2)˙A
13.A spherical vessel with a volume of 1.00 L was evacuated and sealed.
Twenty-four hours later the pressure of air in the vessel was found to be
2.4×10^(-6) atm. During this 24-h period the vessel had been surrounded
by air at 25。C and 1.00 atm. Assuming that air is 78 mole nitrogen and
that the remainder is oxygen, calculate the diameter of the tiny circular
hole in the vessel that allowed the air to leak in.
14.Real gas:
(a)Why do real gases not always behave ideally? Under what conditions does
a real gas behave most ideally? Why?
(b)Is the correctd (ideal) volume of a real gas greater or less than the
actual volume of the container? Why?
Potentially useful data:
constants:
Avogadro's number = 6.022×10^23
R = 8.31 J/mol˙K
1 atm = 760 torr = 760 mm Hg
