標題[外電] Grizzs in trade talks w/ Wolves'Guard

The Grizzlies' quest to add more shooting continues.
Memphis has engaged the Minnesota Timberwolves in trade talks in hopes
of acquiring one of two guards, according to sources. The Griz are interested
in Wayne Ellington or Wesley Johnson, both of whom have reportedly
been made available. Conventional wisdom suggests
that the Griz would try to use Dante Cunningham in a deal, given their
frontcourt logjam after re-signing forwards Darrell Arthur
and Marreese Speights.
Ellington likely is the Grizzlies' main target because of his salary.
The 6-4 guard will earn a little more than $2 million this season.
Cunningham-for-Ellington would be a straightforward trade given
their salaries are nearly identical.
Johnson will make $4.2 million, which means more players would have
to be involved for the Griz to make a transaction work.
Ellington, 24, averaged 41-percent shooting in three seasons with Minnesota.
He's a career 38-percent 3-point shooter. Johnson, 25, shot
40 percent overall and 34 percent from beyond the arc in two NBA seasons.
If a deal is consummated, the Griz will have satisfied their need to
add a shooter and backup point guard. Free agent combo guard Jerryd Bayless
officially signed a two-year deal starting at $3.1 million with the Griz
on Friday during a brief visit to Memphis.
