Florida State forward Chris Singleton defended so well against one of the
draft class' best scorers, Jordan Hamilton of Texas, in the
Golden State Warriors’ workout that he was ready
to seek out established competition. Namely, Al Thornton -
a top-notch scorer who is alsofrom Florida State.
"I'm from Atlanta, so I'm not scared of anybody. I'm going to bring that
toughness to whatever team drafts me," he said. "I feel like I'm the
modern-day Scottie Pippen. I feellike I can do it all: pass, shoot,
dribble and play defense."
Singleton, a lanky and nimble prospect, is considered by many scouts
to be the bestdefender in this year's draft. The back-to-back
ACC Defensive Player of the Year is one ofonly five players to finish
among the top five in the conference in both steals and blocks
in a single season.
