They both also show their age when it comes to their personalities. Love and Flynn will play against each other during the Rookie Challenge on Friday during All-Star weekend (pitting the top rookies vs. the top second-year players). They answered the same questions in separate interviews this week with the Star Tribune's Michael Rand. Q Being two of the younger guys on the team, do you two hang out? Flynn Most of the time, we all hang out together. ... It's fun when everyone is doing things together. We might go to movies, just watch a game in someone's room. It might not be the most exciting thing to do, but being together is important. Love That's funny you ask that. We're definitely the two guys who like to clown around a lot. Sometimes when we should dial it in a bit, we can be too loose. ... We like to have fun, and out on the court you can see we're always smiling and having a good time. Q What has been the toughest adjustment to life in the NBA? Flynn I think just the traveling all the time. In college, you travel once a week maybe. In the NBA, you're traveling almost every day, getting into hotels at 2 a.m., 3 a.m., and you're waking up in different cities every day. Love I definitely had to adjust to the 82-game schedule, and I think Jonny would agree with that. I played 39 games my one season at UCLA, then jumped right in to the next season. I had to adjust to taking care of my body. ... For me, with my body type, it was not eating too late when we get into places. One thing I did is I hired a chef to help me out with that. Q Do you ever tune out during a break and watch the dancers or contests instead of Kurt Rambis? Flynn The only time I do that is when I'm out of the game, and the mascots and people are jumping off the trampoline. It was a good one at the Target Center [recently]. They had all the mascots on the trampolines and shooting half court shots. I tuned out for a long time during that one. Love Yeah, especially when the Klondike stuff is happening and you see Big Al on the screen, you just can't help yourself. Obviously when the dancers are there, you can't help but look sometimes. You're hoping to be up 10 or 15 when the coach finds you looking at the dancers or Crunch is up there flipping and dunking the ball. But we haven't had too many chances to be up 15 or 20 points, so that's a little bit of the problem. Q I have an idea for a recurring video segment where both of you walk through the downtown skyway system creating mayhem, and I film it. Are you in, and what should we call it? Flynn I guess we'd be into that. ... Maybe we'd call it Minneapolis Maniacs? But I'd definitely be interested. Love I don't know ... If I do something, he's going to try to outdo it. I don't know if he's competitive or just being stupid. There's not a third wing, so you can't call it Three Stooges. But between Jonny and I, it's all laughs, never a dull moment. Q What's your dream scenario for this team as it tries to get better for next year? Flynn That's the thing about the NBA. You never know what's going to happen. You could wake up tomorrow and three guys could be gone. You just try to bond as a team. But I think we're really growing as a team right now. Hopefully we can stay together long enough to jell as a unit. Love Obviously I play and the front office does their job ... but it would be pretty obvious, and it's easier said than done, but I would hope we draft well. We have two or three first-round picks. We have a ton of cap space. Definitely sign a big-name free agent. ... Sign an athletic wing type scorer guy. Ryan Hollins is emerging, but maybe add another 7-foot guy who can bang, rebound, block shots and play great interior defense. Q Sophomores vs. Rookies. Who's going to win and why? Flynn Rookies because I'm on the team. I'm not going to say somebody else. But it's going to be fun to play against Kevin Love, and be as a part of All-Star weekend. --
