Kalamian brings 17 years of NBA experience to the Oklahoma City bench. Prior to joining Sacramento, Kalamian spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Before his time in Minnesota, Kalamian spent a one-year stint (2004-05) with the Denver Nuggets working as assistant coach/ player development. Kalamian also worked as a West Coast scout for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2003-04 season prior to assuming his coaching duties in Denver. The bulk of Kalamian’s NBA experience was gained working for the Los Angeles Clippers for nine years in various capacities, starting as an assistant to the scouting department in 1992 before being promoted to assistant coach in 1995. In addition to his many responsibilities on the bench, Kalamian prepared scouting reports on upcoming opponents for coaches and players, as well as developing players’ skills. Prior to joining the Clippers, Kalamian was an assistant coach for his former team at East Los Angeles College for two seasons where he had played the previous two seasons. He led the South Coast Conference in three-point field goal percentage during the 1988-89 season and was team captain in his second year.
