除了英式和美式的差異之外
(基本上很多美式英文er字尾的 在英式常常都是re)
我覺得學界喜歡用theatre勝過theater
畢竟 在地球上有了美國之前 就已經有了劇場
不過，不論theatre或theater
此字源於theatron，是古希臘劇場的階梯觀眾席區域，意為「看的地方」ꄊ
(你不覺得 theatre 長得跟 theatron 比較像嗎?)
