"It was better than good," said 30-year-old Lu. "I played perfect. It was a really amazing day. I will always remember this match and the way I played. I played the best tennis I have played over the last few years."Ferrer had won his past eight semi-finals. Lu went on to lose to John Isner in two tie-breaks in the final and ended 2014 at No. 38, five spots off his career-high.
