Chinese Taipei’s Chia-Jung Chuang made the best of her Wild Card entry,
dismissing No. 3 seed Tatiana Poutchek of Minsk, Belarus, on Sunday. The
match lasted a little over two hours with Chuang breaking Poutchek four times
in two sets, which was the deciding factor. Chuang, ranked 417 in the world,
took three sets to dispatch No. 13 seed Akiko Yonemura of Japan.
